Final updates are coming along nicely.
Before I can order the final proof, Doug is hard at work finishing the formatting for the cover. But isn't the cover already finished you ask? That's a very good question and I'm glad you asked it. You see, formatting for a finished book cover is a little trickier than it looks. You have to produce a single image that includes back cover, spine, and front cover, and which spills just slightly beyond the official size, what's called "bleed". You have to measure very precisely to account for the exact number of pages or it will all print askew. Meanwhile, I have been hard at work mimicking the superior skills of a typesetter. What's a typesetter, you also ask?

Fear not my faithful future fans (who will one day read this post long after the fact). The rumors are true, Lorna Lockheed is coming soon!
Officially the title will be Twentieth Century Eve and Other Stories. Officially the subtitle will be The Collected Adventures of Lorna Lockheed vol.1 I am aiming for a release date of October 2015. Don't bother looking at Amazon just yet, I have not yet hit the big yellow button that says PUBLISH. I am trying to release the hard copy (paperback) at the same time as the digital e-book so that everyone can have their pick. The hard copy just takes a little longer to deal with page layout and proofing. But it'll be well worth it when you set it on your shelf between Mary Shelley and HG Wells. So slide those ray guns back in their holsters and hold tight just a little longer. Lorna Lockheed will get here soon enough, and when she does she'll leave you breathless... Today I started the new site. It was a tough call between using CWilliamPerkins.com or LornaLockheed.com. Not because we are the same person (topic for a different day). But if I ever put out some of my non-Lockheed material, I don't want to have to make a new site.
